WATER BAPTISM
Water baptism is not a sacrament. It is a church
ordinance. Water baptism is NOT
required for salvation and it is NOT
required for church membership. Water baptism is for born-again believers
only. The mode of water baptism is immersion, not sprinkling or
pouring. Immersion results in the candidate being placed beneath the water
followed by raising him up from his immersed position. The reason for
immersion is not because the Greek word "baptizw"
means "immerse," but because placing the candidate beneath the water and raising
him up from his immersed position is the only mode of water baptism that
pictures the believer's identification with Christ
in His death, burial, and resurrection.It is this Pastor's preference to not
baptize any believer who has not come to understand his personal identification
with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. Until then, water
baptism has very little meaning to the candidate.
Since LRNC is an internet church, if a believer desires water baptism, a request should be made by
contacting
us, and every effort will be made to find a way for that believer to be
baptized. God will provide the way!
